INCREASING JIB KNOWLEDGE AND AWARENESS:
From time to time we get calls from production coordinators and others inquiring about our jibs and what they can do. So we decided to address some of those frequently asked questions in order to inform and educate our clients. This, in turn, will help all involved in the production process to get the most out of the tools at hand.
The Stanton Triangle jib comes with its own pan/tilt remote head. Also standard is zoom and focus control for video lenses(Canon & Fuji). We can deal with other manufacturers video lenses if informed before the production day.
For Film, the jib comes with Stanton's hardwired focus controls with a 32 pitch gear and rod mount. We also provide a 24 foot cable for the microforce zoom control. MCT is in the process of purchasing a Bartek wireless system in the next couple of weeks. On most of our bigger film shoots, the AC brings zoom and focus though and uses our system for backup.
MCT jibs come with a standard def monitor for viewing the camera mounted on the jib. We can provide client monitors upon request. For HiDef productions, you or we can rent a monitor or down converter for camera viewing. We plan on adding at least one Hi Definition monitor to our inventory in the near future as we'd like to see what comes out at NAB this year.
For the smaller Sony & Panasonic HDV & HD cameras, we have a long cable for lanc control along with a varizoom. We own the Sony HDV Z1U camera and have the controls for that to work with the jib.
When you are using the jib in close proximity to the talent, we can provide a Teleprompter Monitor that mounts on the jib upon request. We've used them on the 24ft. jib with dutch head on Univision's Premio Lo Nuestro, their annual music awards show. |
